Job Description

This is a full-time on-site Construction Project Manager role, The Construction Project Manager will oversee project coordination, process and procedures, budgeting, construction management and project management to ensure the construction project is delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Responsibilities include supervising the project team, suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, and ensuring that all work complies with the latest building codes and regulations.

You will manage the project team, comprised of multiple vendors, employees, contractors, and consultants, to successfully deliver one or more projects.

You will be responsible for successful project scope, schedule, budget, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management. You will develop, execute, and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all project reporting and other work that supports the project.

You are expected to be able to identify, quantify, plan, assign, delegate, and monitor, and control work on the project. You possess project management knowledge, technical knowledge, understanding, and experience. You will provide the project team with leadership, planning, and coordination through communications. You will provide a written communication (e.g., documented plans and schedules) and communicate in real-time with the team, client, stakeholders, head office, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for achieving the project’s objectives and your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Leading the team that is responsible for achieving the project objectives and stakeholders’ expectations.
Ensuring that the project management plan aligns with the organization’s overall strategic plan.
Collaborating with different roles, such as a engineers, consultants, vendors, contractors, quality assurance manager, and subject matter experts.
Communicating between the project sponsor, team members, and other stakeholders within the client organization, and vendor organizations.
Balancing the competing constraints on the project with the resources available.
Managing all vendors on the project.
Evaluating and analyzing work planned, performed, and deliverables.
Managing business analysis, requirements traceability, and delivery thereof.
Managing organizational change.
Providing the team with leadership, motivation, and planning, and coordination through communication; verbal and non-verbal.
Communicate with stakeholders, teams, vendors, and sponsors across multiple aspects of the project.
Create, maintain, and adhere to communications plans and schedules.
Communicate predictably and consistently
Seek to understand the project stakeholders’ and communicating needs
Make communication concise, clear, complete, simple, relevant, and tailored
Interact with managers within the organization during the course of the project
Works with the sponsor to address internal and external issues that may impact the team or the viability of the quality of the project
Apply project governance to support complex project monitoring and control to facilitate delivery.
Tailor both waterfall and agile tools, techniques, and methods to successfully deliver the project

Job Requirements

-10-15+ Years in a similar role

– PMP® Certification is a must

– Masters Degree is a plus, but not mandatory

– Other project management certification is a plus, but not mandatory

– Demonstrated ability to rescue troubled projects

– Demonstrated ability in management of multiple construction project types.

– Experience with government organizations is a plus but not mandatory.
